James Vaux studied Law at Christ Church, Oxford before practising as a solicitor in the City. He switched to banking and spent 20 years at the international bank Rothschild, advising the UK and foreign governments on large scale privatisations and asset sales. As a Managing Director and Global Partner, he was also European Head of Restructuring and Head of Rothschild’s Nordic Region, living in Stockholm and founding the bank’s Nordic Headquarters there. He still lectures to Swedish audiences on UK current affairs. Having moonlighted as a DJ, and after early retirement, he set up two record labels, Hailstorm and Fat Banker, and managed a number of DJ/producers and singers. He now lives on the Isle of Wight, where he enjoys walking the beautiful coastal and country paths. He and his wife Judith present a weekly afternoon chat show on Vectis Radio. They also run Ramshackle Cinema in Bembridge.
