Kenneth Hicks is a former Army officer educated at Sandown Grammar School and the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. He has lectured extensively in Historical subjects, specialising in the Isle of Wight, where his family have lived for almost two hundred years.
During his Army career and subsequently, he researched the work of the Brannon family and has an extensive collection of their engravings, many of which are now in the care of the Isle of Wight College and available for research and occasionally on display.
As well as being President of the Isle of Wight Branch of the Historical Association, he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. His publications include a definitive guide to the artistic work of the Brannon family, and his most recent publication An Island Legacy.
