Stephanie Merritt read English at Queens College Cambridge and has worked as a critic and feature writer for a variety of newspapers and magazines including The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian and The New Statesman as well as radio and television. She currently writes for the Observer and is a frequent contributor to Radio 4’s Front Row and Saturday Review. She has been a judge for the Perrier Comedy Award, the Orange New Writing Prize and the Costa Book Awards. In 2010 she published her first novel in the Giordano Bruno series, Heresy, under the pseudonym S J Parrris. The fourth novel in the series Treachery was selected for World Book Night 2016. S.J. Parris was selected for London’s CityRead title 2017. Stephanie Merritt’s forthcoming novel, While You Sleep, is a psychological suspense thriller with a twist.
