Join Kate Adie and Alan Titchmarsh on a journey through Kate’s career.  She was on the scene at the explosive end to the Iranian Embassy siege in 1980, and as the BBC’s Chief News correspondent, reported from Northern Ireland, Libya, Rwanda and the break-up of former Yugoslavia.
This year marks the 30th anniversary of her reports on the Chinese government’s attack on the student protest in Tiananmen Square.  In addition to her high profile career as a journalist, she is a best-selling author and has served as a judge for several literary awards.  Currently the presenter of Radio 4’s From Our Own Correspondent, she broadcasts on Radio New Zealand and was this year appointed Chancellor of Bournemouth University.
