The Isle of Wight was central to the Allied plans for the invasion of Normandy in 1944 and witnessed many training exercises, rehearsals and preparations for D-Day. Using the testimony of nearly 1,000 veterans interviewed over the last 40 years, Peter Caddick-Adams will describe the role and significance of the area in April, May and June 1944.
