IBRAHIM ZANTA

Ibrahim Zanta is the founder and director of Mabrouklyn, an innovative fashion company, creative studio, and community hub dedicated to celebrating the cultures of often overlooked and marginalised communities.

From the highlands of Yemen, he moved to Brooklyn, New York, where his family founded a popular Yemeni restaurant. Now based in London, Ibrahim has brought his passion for community and design to Mabrouklyn.

Driven by his love for Yemeni culture, Ibrahim will be sharing his heritage, presenting Bittersweet, A Story of Food & Yemen, the captivating book by documentary photographer, Sayed Asif Mahmud.

Created in partnership with the UN World Food Program, and published by Cowes-based, Medina Publishing, Bittersweet portrays everyday practices, cooking techniques, and livelihoods against the backdrop of Yemen’s unique landscapes, architecture, and heartwarming gatherings.

The event will be brought to life with a cooking demonstration by a Yemeni chef, while Ibrahim will take participants on a journey into the heart of Yemen and its food and people.
