James Rayner was born and brought up on the Isle of Wight. His background is in language and literature, studying with the University of Iceland and the University of Malmö in Sweden. After graduating he undertook fieldwork with the Yezidi community in Tbilisi, Georgia and is self-taught in a number of different languages. James has also written for print and online magazines and he blogs about food and travel. The Isle of Wight’s Missing Chapter is his first book which is the result of eight months of research. Revealing a hidden aspect of the Isle of Wight’s history, he considers it a work in progress, as new discoveries mean this story continues to evolve. To learn more about James click here.
