Leanda de Lisle

After reading history at Oxford university Leanda de Lisle pursed a successful career as a journalist and author. She had been a weekly columnist for Country Life magazine, the Daily and Sunday Express, the Guardian and the Spectator, as well as writing regularly for the Mail newspapers, the Telegraph newspapers and the Times newspapers. Over the past 15 years she has written several bestselling books on Tudor and Stuart history. The latest is the award-winning biography of Charles I, White King, described by Andrew Marr as ‘fascinating’ and which the Financial Times describes as ‘that rare thing, a page turning history that gently but insistently asks provocative questions about a period on which our ideas have become all too fixed’.
