Sarah Langford

Sarah Langford has been a practising barrister since 2006. She studied English at the University of the West of England. She then worked as a barmaid, legal secretary and note-taking clerk before completing a law conversion, in which she gained a distinction. She was awarded a scholarship from Gray’s Inn and went on to become a barrister, principally in criminal and family law. She practiced on the Western Circuit for nearly a decade before taking parental leave to have her two small children. In Your Defence: Stories of Life and Law was published in June 2018 and became a Sunday Times Bestseller. It has been long listed for a Golden Dagger for Non-Fiction by the Criminal Writers Association and optioned for television by Working Title TV. Sarah lives with her husband and two small boys in London and Suffolk.
