Happy to Help

Our incredible team of volunteers is vital to the success of the Literary Festival.

Volunteers are the face of the Festival and are there to help visitors, speakers and staff in a pleasant, courteous and efficient manner.

You can arrange volunteering to suit you and your lifestyle – volunteer for the weekend, a day, a morning, an afternoon or an evening. We ask for a minimum commitment of 2 half days/evenings. Qualifications needed are a friendly, helpful and smiling disposition and a willingness to work as part of a team. Roles for volunteers are varied and interesting and range from looking after the speakers, assisting festival goers and maintaining the high standard expected in the rooms of historic Northwood House and the marquees located within the grounds.

Some of our volunteers have been helping for many years, others will have had no previous experience. Training is provided in September and you are asked to attend at least one training session.
