Anthony Roberts

Anthony Roberts is a retired plastic and reconstructive surgeon with interests in the treatment of burns and of other injuries. His special experience has been working in wars and disasters around the world. He qualified at Cambridge and then Oxford and has worked in 45 countries in all five continents. Covid was his reason to start writing his autobiography. The first volume Scholarship Boy to Engineer, Plastic Surgeon and Sportsman was published last year and the second volume, the subject of this illustrated talk, Plastic Surgery in Wars, Disasters and Civilian Life this year. It also includes information about the research in which he has been involved, and his thoughts on the few plusses and many minuses of the changed in the National Health Service during the 50 years he has been involved.
